There will not be a messy church in August (it is the holiday season). However, instead we will be holding a special event: an Olympic Challenge on the 17th August. In August, our Royal Rangers outpost will be camping for five days together with a group of Rangers from Germany (pictured here) and anyone coming to messy church is invited to join them on Saturday 17th for an afternoon and evening of activities fun and campfire -cooked food.
A bus will leave Birtley Community Church at 1:30pm to take visitors to the campsite (which is at Moor House Adventure Centre, a 15 minute drive away, just outside Durham). There is the option to return at 5:00pm after an afternoon of Olympic Game challenges (suitable from all ages: 3 years to 80 years+) and campfire food.
A second option is to return at 9:00pm (again we provide transport) after more extensive food, bonfire and presentations by the Rangers camping there.
